- Photos of COAs and labels you upload are sent to our AI provider for analysis. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
- You can delete any saved note, COA, or your entire account at any time.
- We do not provide medical advice. Talk to a licensed clinician before changing any treatment.
1. Who we are
Between the Strains ("we", "us") is an educational tool that helps adults research cannabinoids, terpenes, product labels, and interactions. The site is operated by its owner via the Lovable platform.
2. Age requirement
Between the Strains is intended for users 21 years of age or older. By creating an account you confirm you meet that age requirement. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
3. Information we collect
- Account info: email address and optional display name.
- Notes: the cannabinoid log entries you write (product, dose, effect, notes).
- Saved COAs: the parsed JSON breakdown of any Certificate of Analysis you choose to save.
- Label scans: the photo or PDF is sent to our AI provider for decoding and is not stored on our servers unless you explicitly save it.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP, browser, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention.
- Location for "near me" map: only used in your browser when you enter it — we do not send location data to our servers.
4. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To save and display the notes and COAs you choose to save.
- To run AI analysis on the COAs and labels you upload (via the Lovable AI Gateway).
- To improve reliability and prevent abuse (rate limiting, security monitoring).
5. Sharing
We share data only with the service providers required to run the app — our hosting platform (Lovable), our database & auth provider, and the AI gateway that analyzes uploaded COAs and labels. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
6. Your rights
- Delete: every note and saved COA has a delete button. You can wipe any entry at any time.
- Account deletion: contact us to delete your account entirely. We'll remove your profile, notes, and saved COAs.
- Access / export: request a copy of the data we hold for your account.
- Opt out of AI analysis: simply don't upload COAs or labels — the rest of the app works fine without it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard hosting and database security, including row-level security so that only you can read or write your own notes and COAs. No system is perfectly secure — never store anything you wouldn't want a sophisticated attacker to potentially see.
8. Cookies
We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember UI preferences. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Children
The service is not directed to anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Not medical or legal advice
All content on Between the Strains is educational. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed medical professional or attorney. Cannabis laws vary by jurisdiction — you are responsible for complying with the laws where you live.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
