Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice

Last updated February 9, 2026

The short version
What you actually need to know.
  • We only collect health-related information that you type or upload yourself.
  • Browsing research topics is not stored against your account.
  • We never sell consumer health data, and we never share it for advertising.
  • You can delete any entry, export everything, or delete your whole account at any time.
  • You can withdraw your consent, which deletes the health-related entries you saved.

1. Who is responsible

Between the Strains is operated by [OWNER'S FULL LEGAL NAME OR REGISTERED BUSINESS NAME]. For any question or request about consumer health data, contact hello@betweenthestrains.com.

2. What we treat as consumer health data

Only information you actively choose to save:

  • Private notes: the cannabinoid, product, dose, effect, and free-text notes you enter in "Your notes" — including anything you write about symptoms or conditions.
  • Saved Certificates of Analysis and label scans: the parsed results you choose to save, plus the product name and brand.
  • Assistant messages: questions you type into the assistant, which may describe a health situation.

We do not log which research topics you view, do not build a health profile about you, and do not infer conditions from your activity.

3. How we use it

  • To store and display your own notes and saved scans back to you.
  • To generate the plain-English breakdown of a COA or label you upload.
  • To answer an assistant question you ask in that session.

We do not use consumer health data for advertising, profiling, scoring, or training our own models, and we do not use it to make decisions about you.

4. Who we share it with

Only the processors needed to run the app: our hosting platform (Lovable), our database and authentication provider, and the AI gateway that analyses uploaded COAs, labels, and assistant questions. Those providers act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

We do not sell consumer health data — not for money and not for any other valuable consideration — and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.

5. Consent

Before you can save a note, we ask you to separately consent to storing consumer health data. That consent is recorded with a timestamp on your profile. It is separate from accepting the Terms and from creating your account — you can use the educational parts of the site without ever giving it.

6. Withdrawing consent and deleting data

  • Per entry: every note and saved scan has a delete button. Deleting removes it from our database.
  • Withdraw consent: go to Account settings and withdraw health data consent. This deletes your saved notes and saved scans and stops you from saving new ones until you consent again.
  • Delete everything: deleting your account from Account settings removes your profile, notes, saved scans, and reviews.
  • Export: you can download a copy of everything we hold for your account.
  • By email: write to hello@betweenthestrains.com and we will action deletion or access requests within 45 days.

Deletion requests are passed to our processors. Encrypted backups may retain a copy for a short rolling window before they expire.

7. Retention

We keep consumer health data until you delete it, withdraw consent, or delete your account. We do not have a separate archive of it.

8. Security

Health-related rows are protected by row-level security so that only your authenticated account can read or write them, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure — please don't store anything you would not want exposed in a worst case.

9. Children

The service is for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect health data from anyone under 21.

10. Changes and contact

Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above, and we will ask for fresh consent where required. Questions or requests: hello@betweenthestrains.com.
